ah brilliant are you those amazing people behind Kshama Sawant and 15 Now. Superb campaign and honest lefties. Made every other left group in america embarrassed and bitter for achieving success for the masses. Well Done.
– Police ARE workers, common sense and basic Marxist sociology tells us that
– neither the AFL-CIO nor Change 2 win collect per capita taxes from police unions since, thanks to legal restrictions imposed on police unions by the department’s who’s officers they represent, most police unions are BARRED from national labor affiliation. The PBA in New York and the Fraternal Order of Police nationally are independent, unaffiliated to the AFL-CIO or Change 2 Win
– that’s because police brass fear rank and file cops joining forces with other workers, the recent ticket writing and arrest strike by New York cops and past strike actions by NYC officers are the reason why
– instead of unrealistic fantasies of “labor Black Latino militias” the left should focus on encouraging the rank and file officers in the radio cars to resist abuses by the top brass (including Taylorist production quotas to write more tickets and make more arrests)
– dividing the police officers in the radio cars from the top brass downtown and uniting them with their fellow workers would do much to accelerate the revolutionary process in this country
